Capital Shopping Centres (CSC) purchase the Trafford Centre, near Manchester, for £1.6bn could be announced as early as this morning.
Peel’s John Whittaker is expected to have a seat on CSC’s board and his company will have up to a quarter share of CSC as a result of the deal. CSC closed down 18p at 337.5p after it said it was planning its third share sale in less than two years. The company is preparing a fundraising of between £250m and £275m. JPMorgan said Trafford looked a perfect fit in the CSC portfolio.
