Budget hotel chain Travelodge has signed a 25 year lease at intu Lakeside, Essex, for a 74-bed hotel.
The five-storey hotel will be built on land adjacent to the lake at Lakeside, and will include a 7,850 sq ft ground floor leisure unit which will be let by Lakeside.
The signing is part of intu’s £100m leisure development, which will also incorporate family entertainment venues and health and fitness facilities.
The intu Lakeside investment is part of a £1.3bn development pipeline over 10 years.
Neil Short, Travelodge development manager, said: “This will be a superb place for our business and leisure customers to stay and will enable us to offer the best value accommodation in the area.”
