Travelodge wants to be London’s spare room

A lack of spare rooms in London homes has prompted Travelodge to open more cheap hotels in the M25.

The budget hotelier has announced plans to open 20 more hotels in the capital, taking its London portfolio to nearly 100 out of its 600 hotels nationwide.

The £350m programme will include a 113-room hotel near City airport in conjunction with Segro and a 78-room hotel in Dagenham in a joint venture with the London borough of Barking and Dagenham.
