Trillium confirms DVLA outsourcing contract

Land Securities Trillium confirmed today that it has signed a 20-year outsourcing contract with the Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA).

Trillium will carry out major refurbishment and provide capital expenditure and estates and facilities management for the the DVLA’s entire estate of 58 properties totalling 1m sq ft.

The programme includes a £30m refurbishment of the DVLA’s headquarters at Morriston, Swansea.

The site comprises 13 buildings totalling 707,330 sq ft.

The outsourcing specialist will take on the rental obligations for DVLA, however there will be no transfer of freehold property to Trillium.

It will receive payment for the provision of its services and refurbishment works via a performance-related annual unitary charge and expects the contract to become profitable in 2007.
