Trio of occupiers eye space at 70 St Mary Axe

Nuveen is in the process of securing a trio of new tenants at 70 St Mary Axe, EC3, which would take the building to nearly full occupation.

More than 45,000 sq ft is believed to be under offer, with Delos wanting to lease circa 34,500 sq ft across floors seven and eight, while Hewlett Packard and Samsung are considering taking around 16,000 sq ft combined.

If the deals go ahead the trio of new tenants will join planning and development consultancy firm Montagu Evans, real-time technology firm Adaptive, CBRE’s Hana and law firm Sidley Austin.

The 21-storey building, nicknamed the Can of Ham because of its semi-elliptical shape, has been pulling in headline rents on average in the high £70s per sq ft for its 311,000 sq ft of office space after completing in the first quarter of 2019.

Nuveen declined to comment. Delos, Hewlett Packard and Samsung have been contacted for comment.

BH2 and JLL are the leasing agents on the building for Nuveen.
