Trio picked for £200m Darlington scheme

Tees Valley Regeneration has appointed three developers for Darlington’s £200m Central Park redevelopment.

Central Park, Darlington

The scheme, in Co Durham, will be developed by a consortium of Commercial Estates Group, Yuill Homes and Keepmoat.

The developers beat shortlisted rivals Kier Group, St Modwen, Taylor Woodrow, Persimmon and SKY, a consortium made up of Silverlink Property Developments.

Commercial Estates Group will be responsible for the commercial and leisure elements of the scheme, and Keepmoat and Yuill the housing side.

Central Park is an area of largely derelict land close to the town centre, and is one of five major regeneration sites by Tees Valley Regeneration.

The development will include 600 homes, 300,000 sq ft of offices, community facilities, restaurants and bars, a hotel, and public space.

Urban regeneration company Tees Valley Regeneration was formed in 2002.
