Triple helping of restaurant lettings for Preston’s Animate

Maple Grove has signed three more restaurant operators for Animate, a £40m leisure and entertainment complex in the centre of Preston, Lancashire.

Italian restaurant Zizzi will be moving into 3,250 sq ft on the main terrace, which fronts Preston’s market canopy. Latin American bar Las Iguanas has taken 3,750 sq ft and world buffet operator Cosmo will occupy 11,000 sq ft on the upper floor.

The trio will join Arc Cinema and Hollywood Bowl, which have signed for a combined 50,000 sq ft.

The scheme is now 75% prelet.

Main contractor Eric Wright Construction is set to start work on the scheme in January next year and the restaurants are expected to be operational when the scheme opens in late 2024.

Letting agents Bradys and CBRE advised on all three deals for Maple Grove.

John Brady of Bradys said: “Given its size and large student population, the city offers potential for a far wider array of restaurants and bars. Animate will help address this.”

The scheme is part funded by Towns Fund investment, which contributed £3.4m, and City Deal, which added another £3.3m.
