Tristan acquires site for Birmingham’s tallest office block

Tristan Capital has acquired Birmingham’s 103 Colmore Row for a 26-storey office development that will be the tallest in the city.

Its EPISO 4 fund acquired the city centre site which has consent for a 26-storey office tower that will be 105.5m in height and contain 233,000 sq ft of space.

Tristan acquired the development from a Patrizia-managed joint venture. The fund will retain Sterling Property Ventures as the development manager for the project.

Nicho Jenkins, managing director of Tristan, said: “We’re excited to be working with Sterling to deliver the only new-build scheme in the city’s current pipeline that will be capable of providing occupiers with self-contained floors of 9,000-12,000 sq ft.”

James Howarth, managing director of Sterling Property Ventures, said: “Tristan is a natural partner for us because of their belief in the scheme and the Birmingham office market.”

The building is scheduled for completion in Q2 2021. It will comprise 224,000 sq ft of offices and 7,700 sq ft of restaurant space on the ground and top two floors.

Colliers International advised EPISO 4 on the investment and Knight Frank advised on occupiers.
