Tritax Big Box issues £250m green bond

Tritax Big Box has issued £250m of green bonds, claiming it to be the first initiative of its kind launched by a UK REIT.

The bonds will be used to finance or refinance new or existing green projects and will help fund the REIT’s pipeline of new sustainable, net zero carbon buildings.

The bonds will mature on 27 November 2033 and are expected to be issued this Friday.

Tritax Big Box finance director Franke Whitehead said: “Across our portfolio, we see significant opportunities to reduce environmental impact, benefiting all of our stakeholders.

“In addition to supporting these objectives, the green bond represents attractively priced, long-dated financing, further strengthening our balance sheet.”
