TrizecHahn chief set for ABN AMRO move

Dutch investment bank ABN AMRO has appointed former TrizecHahn chief operating officer Phillip Rose (pictured) as European head of real estate.

The bank said Rose will be based in London, with a wide brief to develop its European real estate business, including corporate advice, mergers and acquisitions, IPOs, private equity placements, debt, structured finance and venture capital.

Rose has over 18 years’ experience in the investment banking, real estate and securities businesses in Europe, the US and Australia. He was formerly chief operating officer of Canadian-owned developer and investor TrizecHahn Europe.

He was also managing director of Lend Lease Global Investment, which financed ¬1bn private equity investments in retail, leisure, factory outlet, office and nursing home real estate in the UK and Europe.

Rose said: “The European real estate industry is going through a period of profound change. European economic integration and outsourcing by both corporates and government is changing the way real estate is both owned and operated. At the same time, changes within the capital markets are affecting the way property equity and debt are employed by the industry. ABN AMROs capital markets strengths, understanding of real estate and strong pan-European network position it exceptionally well to work with Europes leading real estate companies in growing their businesses.”
