Trophaeum Asset Management has launched an investment vehicle to invest £10bn into high-end European retail over the next five years.
Trophaeum Asset Partners, led by former Thor Equities managing director Jared Hart, is looking to build a £10bn high-end retail portfolio across markets including London, Paris and Milan.
Starting in January, TAP will target leverage of between 55% and 65% with a focus on securing the majority of retail freeholders in particular areas.
Trophaeum, which has so far invested on behalf of private investors, has a portfolio that includes the majority of Albemarle Street in London’s West End. It has brought in a number of luxury brands such as Alexander Wang as a way of regenerating the area.
The new vehicle, which has secured £4bn of equity through institutions, sovereign wealth funds and high-net-worth individuals, will seek to replicate a similar strategy in other areas.
