Next’s regional estates manager, Adrian Trotter, is retiring from the company in July after 32 years.
Trotter has been working at the retailer since 1984, three years after Leeds department store in Hepworth bought the Kendalls rainwear chain to develop the original Next concept.
Before joining the company, he was a surveyor at Sheffield City Council.
Trotter was instrumental in some of the retailer’s largest real estate transactions, including Next High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire and the Manchester Arndale Centre.
Next is recruiting for a replacement regional estates manager, who will work alongside head of property, Dominic O’Rourke.
The retailer recently announced plans to open its largest shop in the UK, an 80,000 sq ft anchor store at The Peel Centre retail park in Edinburgh.
