Trump appeals against testify order

Donald Trump has appealed to overturn a ruling that he must answer questions about his business practices.

The property magnate and former president is being investigate by New York state, and had been ordered to testify by a judge on 17 February.

However, lawyers for Trump and his two eldest children yesterday filed papers with the appellate division of the state’s trial court, seeking to overturn the ruling.

They argue that ordering the Trumps to testify violates their constitutional rights because their answers could be used in a parallel criminal investigation.

The Trump family is being investigated for tax fraud involving the over- and under-valuing of properties.
