Trump returns to Manhattan as prosecutors circle

Donald Trump returned to Manhattan this week for the first time since losing office, as details emerged of deepening investigations by prosecutors.

The former president arrived at Trump Tower on Sunday and left again on Tuesday, apparently to assess how damaging the investigation could be.

Cy Vance, the Democratic district attorney of Manhattan, is investigating a loan that Trump received to buy a Chicago skyscraper and also his handling of a 213-acre estate in Westchester, 40 miles north of downtown Manhattan.

Vance’s office said in court papers that it was investigating possible tax, insurance and bank fraud.
