Trump’s sons ‘knew nothing’ about accounts or valuations

Donald Trump’s sons have denied having any knowledge of financial statements that were used to inflate the value of their family firm’s real estate empire.

Donald Jr and Eric Trump have now both testified at the civil court case in New York, where the judge has already found them guilty of adjusting financial statements to inflate the value of Trump Organization properties in order to get better terms from banks and insurers.

But despite the fact that the duo took on bigger roles when Donald Trump Sr was in the White House between 2017 and 2021, both sons claim to have had no knowledge of what went into the financial statements.

“I didn’t know anything about it,” Eric told the court, before reluctantly acknowledging following a heated exchange: “We’re a massive real estate organisation… Yes, I’m pretty sure we had financial statements.”

Donald Jr, who was a trustee of the firm, and in charge of its assets while his father was president, told the court that he knew nothing about the accounts, saying that was what he paid accountants for.
