Losses at Turnberry, President Trump’s five-star golf resort and hotel on the west coast of Scotland, have narrowed and it expects to swing into profit soon.
Turnberry made a loss of £3.38m last year, compared with a record £17.6m reverse the previous year. Since Mr Trump took over the South Ayrshire resort in 2014, its losses have totalled nearly £33 million.
Turnberry dates back to before the First World War and arguably is most famous among golfers for hosting the 1977 Open Championship, which featured a celebrated dual between Tom Watson and Jack Nicklaus.
