The 641 branches Lloyds Banking Group failed to sell to the Co-op will become TSB branches overnight early next month.
The “Project Verde” branches will be transformed on 9 September and the brand spun out from the group’s branch network. TSB will become a self-styled back for local communities, destined for a stock market flotation next year. Lloyds bounced back to a £2.1bn profit in the first half, up from a £456m loss a year ago.
