TSB will close a quarter of its branches next year.
The move, which will shut 70 branches and leave the high street bank with just 220 premises, is a continuation of TSB’s strategy over the past two years. In 2019 the bank had 536 branches.
TSB, which is owned by Sabadell of Spain, will have the UK’s seventh-largest branch network after the cuts.
It has pledged not to close sites where it is the last bank in town and it will also open 10 “pop-up” sites in more remote areas.
