Transport for London believes the structural damage to the Piccadilly line tunnel from Thursday’s terrorist attack was not as bad as had been initially feared.
It said the system was likely to return to normal earlier than expected once police had finished their work at the crime scenes.
Russian counter-terrorism officials are said to suspect that terrorist attacks were planned in each of the five cities competing for the 2012 Olympics. A senior police officer warned another attack could be imminent.
