Turley buys Beacon Planning in Cambridge

Planning consultancy Turley has bought Cambridge planning and heritage specialist Beacon Planning.

The move builds on Turley’s recent expansion into the East of England and Beacon will be brought into its national network of 13 offices.

Turley said the deal will position the company to take on opportunities from the Oxford-Milton Keynes-Cambridge growth corridor.

Founded in 2008 by Andy Thompson and Jon Burgess, Beacon has a team of 13 and advises developers, housebuilders and many Cambridge colleges.

Turley has established a presence in Cambridge over the past 12 months and recently appointed Justine Bailey as senior planner to join director Steven Kosky. Planning director Sid Hadjioannou is transferring from Turley’s London office to support the Cambridge team.
