Turnover at the country’s top 100 nightclubs fell for the third year in a row in 2015, dropping 9% to £340m, according to figures from Ortus Secured Finance.
Deltic Group chief executive Peter Marks noted, however, that more new venues had been added last year than for many years.
The late-night leisure industry contributes 6% to gross domestic product, he said.
