British retail mogul Harold Tillman CBE has joined the New West End Company board in order to help attract real estate investors to the capital.
The man behind Jaeger and Aquascutum will join the 13 other board members, including John Burns, chief executive of Derwent London, and John King, chief executive of House of Fraser.
Announced today at the New West End Company’s annual general meeting, chairwoman Dame Judith Mayhew Jonas, said: “With 2012 being a year of huge opportunity for the West End, Tillman’s appointment onto our board will play an integral role in further cementing the West End’s credentials as a world powerhouse for retail, leisure and investment.”
The appointment comes a day after the consortium called for a mayoral transport commission to be established in the West End.
