Buoyant household spending was behind the rise in U.K. gross domestic product in the three months ended Sept. 30, data from the Office for National Statistics showed.
The economy expanded 0.7% in the quarter according to final estimates, while household spending was up 0.9%, its highest rise in over four years. On the year, GDP rose 2.6%, a downward revision from 3% originally.
Imports rose 1.3%, outpacing a 0.6% rise in exports.
