Next May’s election is too close to call, the latest polls show.
The Populus poll puts both Labour and the Conservatives on 35% each, with the UK Independence Party and the Liberal Democrats trailing on 9% and 4%, respectively.
A poll by Opinium, meanwhile, has Labour in the lead on 36%, with the Tories on 29%, UKIP on 16% and the Liberal Democrats on 6%.
The odds offered by betting outlets show a similar scenario – Paddy Power, for example, is offering odds of 10-1 or lower on nine possible outcomes for the election.
