House prices in the U.K. rose 10.4% on the year in October, slowing from the previous month’s 12.1% on-year rise, data from the Office for National Statistics shows.
The average house price edged up 0.1% on the month to £271,000, in seasonally adjusted terms.
Nevertheless, the market is widely expected to pick up in the first six months of next year, benefiting from the recent changes to stamp duty introduced in the Chancellor of the Exchequer’s Autumn Statement.
