UBS poaches AXA Real Estate boss Marcuse

UBS Global Asset Management has poached AXA Real Estate Investment Managers boss Paul Marcuse.

Marcuse has been appointed head of Global Real Estate at the company, leaving his role as chief executive of AXA REIM which he has held since 2000.

Outgoing head, James W O’Keefe, will continue to work at UBS as senior advisor to the Global Real Estate team.

Marcuse will be based in London, reporting to John A Fraser, chairman and CEO of UBS Global Asset Management and will also join the executive committee.

UBS Global Asset Management’s Global Real Estate business is active in Continental Europe, Japan, the United Kingdom and United States with over £16.6bn in invested assets, 348 employees and 13 offices around the world.

Fraser said: “Under Jim’s leadership, Global Real Estate has become a key part of our investment capabilities and an important contributor to our business success.

“Paul’s 20 years of experience in the real estate industry will drive our business forward to its next stage of development.”
