Urban & Civic plc has exchanged contracts with Claydon Estate for 785 acres of greenfield land on the site near Calvert in Aylesbury Vale, Buckinghamshire.
The conditional agreement could lead to a substantial residential development on a site which sits at the intersection of HS2 and the proposed new Oxford/Cambridge line.
Despite being greenfield land, the area has been identified by the National Infrastructure Commission as a priority area for new housing delivery. U&C said a key NPPF modification was the endorsing of NIC recommendations when preparing plans or determining applications.
It’s the second large strategic land site U&C has picked up in two weeks, since also being chosen for the Manydown development near Basingstoke.
