Olympic-Park-THUMB.jpegUniversity College London has agreed terms to lease 60,000 sq ft at Here East, the Delancey-led redevelopment of the London 2012 Press and Broadcast Centres.

It will pay more than £30 per sq ft for space in the creative and digital cluster at the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, E15.

It joins BT Sport, Loughborough University, Hackney Community College and Infinity SDC at the 1.2m sq ft development, which is now close to 50% let.

The deal – which is for an
initial period of six
years – will provide the university with project space as it continues to progress plans to build a new campus at the Olympic Park.

UCL East will be part of the widely heralded Olympicopolis cultural quarter at the park, backed with £141m of public funding by the chancellor in his 2014 Autumn Statement.

The quarter will include a new Sadler’s Wells dance theatre, a second exhibition space for the Victoria & Albert Museum and the university campus, which will be dedicated to art, design and engineering.
