U+I has been granted planning permission for a 660-home mixed-use regeneration project at the old Powergen site at Victoria Way, Ashford.
It will be delivered in partnership with Canterbury-based developer Quinn Estates and specialist private rented sector operator Neighbour, who will develop 400 of the apartments.
Occupied by Powergen in the 1990s, the brownfield site has lain vacant for over a decade.
U+I has also exchanged contracts to acquire a second six-acre site located opposite Ashford International train station from the Homes and Communities Agency.
It is drawing up a masterplan for around 200 residential units, a 120-bedroom hotel, supermarket, brewery and visitor centre for local wine and beer maker Chapel Down.
