London and the south-east have taken the biggest share of the UK’s call centres, according to the Financial Times.
Scotland, too, is doing well with evidence that companies are attracted by the accents.
The UK is now the largest and most developed cal centre market in Europe. The number is expected to climb this year from 4,100 in 1998 to 5,050.
