UK economy to avoid recession

The UK economy will slow down but a recession will be avoided, according to forecasts by ratings firm Moody’s.

Economists at Moody’s expect growth of 1.5% this year and 1.2% next.

Exports will get a boost as a result of the weaker currency, although uncertainty about the economy will continue to dampen business investment and consumer spending. Moody’s also does not expect a major fall in house prices.
