UK house price growth was the slowest in three months in June, with a rise of 0.8% on the month taking the average house price to £223,000, figures from the Office for National Statistics and the Land Registry showed.
On the year, price growth slowed to 4.9% from 5%.
Prices fared worst in London, which was the only area to experience a decline. Prices in the capital were 0.6% lower on the month, at £482,000. The region with the highest growth was Yorkshire and the Humber, where prices rose by 2.6% to £158,000.
