Infrastructure costs in the UK are far higher than in any of its European peers.
According to early findings from Boston Consulting Group, which compared more than 1,600 projects around the world, costs mount in the UK due to long planning times.
Costs in the UK were found to be almost double those in France, Germany and Spain, while below those in Australia and on a par with the US. However, delivery times in both the US and Australia were found to be far quicker.
