The UK will miss its 2050 net-zero target due to the impact of transport and home heating, according to forecasts by DNV, a risk management group.
The country’s annual greenhouse gas emissions will have fallen by 85% between 1990 and 2050, the firm said, missing the 100% reduction target set by government in 2019.
Britain also looks set to miss a target to cut emissions by 68% by 2030, instead hitting a 55% reduction.
