UK pub numbers continuing to fall

Around 21 pubs are closing each week, although that is down from 27 a week earlier this year.

New pub openings are helping the overall figures. Among those planning to add to the numbers is the JD Wetherspoon chain, which is targeting 15-20 new pubs over the next 12 months.
