Countrywide Assured, Britains biggest property agency, has plans to put details and pictures of its 55,000-strong book of properties on a web site.
Homebuyers will key in their region of interest and be able to access information on all the companys properties.
Countrywide has around 750 agents trading under chain names such as Bairstow Eves, John D Wood and Mann & Co. It is also fast building up its franchise operations.
Chairman Christopher Sporburg said he was in talks with rival agents to put their properties on his web pages as well.
He said: “These sites have taken off in the US big time but we dont have it much in this country.”
Countrywide, which makes most of its profits selling life insurance and mortgages to its estate agency customers, reported record half-year profits.
