UK’s biggest nightclub operator to call in administrators

The UK’s biggest nightclub firm is planning to call in administrators as part of a restructuring that could result in venues closing for good.

Rekom UK, which owns brands including Atik and Pryzm and runs about 35 clubs and 12 late-night bars across the UK, said it had filed a notice of intention to appoint administrators for a number of companies within the group.

The business had been run as Luminar, which had 300 clubs before falling into administration in 2011 and re-emerging as Deltic Group. Despite plans for a float, that then went into administration in late 2020 after being dealt a fatal blow by the pandemic. It was bought out of pre-pack administration in 2021 by Scandinavian nightclub operator Rekom.
