The UK’s largest landlords, Fergus and Judith Wilson, have sold around 400 of their 900 properties in Kent over the past year.
Around 50 of the houses were sold to tenants, but most were sold to overseas buyers.
The time of the amateur landlord is over, Fergus Wilson said. Lending criteria have been tightened and too many amateur landlords walk into pitfalls.
