Natwest subsidiary Ulster Bank has unveiled plans for a £30m headquarters in central Belfast, which will be built by local developer McAleer & Rushe.
The 11,150 sq m net (120,000 sq ft) office complex will go up in Donegall Square, overlooking City Hall. The seven-storey building will also have a banking hall and basement car parking.
Ulster Bank is paying £16m for building which will be handed over a a shell. The bank’s 600 staff will occupy the entire building when fitting out is completed in mid-1999.
According to Kevin Milhench of Lambert Smith Hampton’s Belfast office, who acted for McAleer & Rushe: “The new Ulster Bank headquarters will be the most prestigious development for decades.”
