Residents around Osborne Road, a mile from Newcastle city centre, are fighting to stop Ultimate Leisure turning part of the Gresham Hotel into Bar Bacca, on a prime site in the street.
Osborne Road has become a fashionable destination with pubs, restaurants and clubs.
A former Scout Association building there is to become a restaurant.
