Up to eight new towns needed in Scotland

As many as eight new towns could be needed in Scotland to address the country’s housing crisis, according to the Scottish Conservative leader, Ruth Davidson.

Davidson will use a speech today to announce plans for a further 25,000 homes each year if she becomes first minister.

A housing agency should be created, and the government should also provide additional support for young people looking for accommodation, she will say.
