Mixed-use developer Urban Centric is to lodge plans for one of the largest residential schemes in Cardiff city centre, with 420 homes at its Dumballs Road site.
It is working with CW Architects to develop the former Anchor Industrial Estate to create a new housing scheme called Kingfisher Quarter.
The developer has submitted a request for an EIA screening of initial proposals for the site to the south of the city core, in the heart of the Dumballs Road Regeneration Area.
The site fronts Bellerophon’s enormous 2,070-home regeneration, which was unveiled in 2014, but has since stalled. It is a short distance from another site which Urban Centric is developing with Platform_ as a 206-home build-to-rent scheme.
Kingfisher Quarter will be delivered across four blocks of up to 12 storeys, with a significant contribution of public realm.
It will include a 10,000 sq ft convenience store and 4,000 sq ft of retail and restaurant space.
