Urban & Civic has submitted a mixed-use planning application for the development of 2,800 homes and business space at Wintringham in Huntingdonshire.
The plan for the site, part of the St Neots Eastern Expansion Urban Design Framework, will include close to 680,000 sq ft of commercial space, across R&D, creative, office and industrial space.
It will also deliver two primary schools and retail and healthcare facilities alongside infrastructure and services.
The site was previously subject to a planning application in 2013, which was refused, before Urban & Civic bought into the landowning partnership alongside Nuffield Trust, the long-term owners.
Tim Leathes, development director at Urban & Civic, said: “Drawing on the strong partnerships we have developed over the past seven years working in Cambridgeshire we intend to develop this site in a way that maximises the benefits for local people and creates a lasting legacy for the area.
“With the application in, we look forward to continued discussions and engagement as the planning process moves forward, and we will continue to work with local authorities, business and communities to deliver an exciting sustainable development for the local area.”
