Urban Outfitters opens in Glasgow as UK assault gathers pace

Urban Outfitters (UO) has taken its second UK store at Britannic Asset Managers’ Stock Exchange redevelopment on Glasgow’s Buchanan Street.

The global clothes-to-furniture retailer, which is opening in Dublin later this year, is still looking for stores in Edinburgh and Manchester and plans further openings in London. UO’s only store is on Kensington High Street in London.

At the Stock Exchange, the retailer has taken a 2,135 sq m (23,000 sq ft) store on a 25-year lease. UO is thought to be paying over £550,000 pa for the new store.

Winton Faith and Hamilton Glen acted for Britannic, while Ian Scott & Co is UO’s agent.
