Urbana Partners buys abrdn office building

Urbana Partners has debuted in Manchester, with the purchase of a 58,000 sq ft office at 17 Quay Street. The building was bought from Aberdeen Standard Investments.

It is the real estate firm’s fourth UK acquisition in the past 12 months.

Nick Lloyd, partner at Urbana, said: “The building benefits from a prime location and a configuration that will enable us to pursue a high quality, ESG-conscious refurbishment orientated towards the increasing post-Covid occupational demand.”

OBI has advised Urbana, while Savills was acting on behalf of abrdn.

Scott Gemmell, OBI Capital markets lead, said: “The asset offers clear asset management initiatives, while taking advantage of the strong fundamentals that the Manchester office market has to offer.”
