Urban&Civic has appointed Matt Soules to the newly created role of head of development management.

In his new role, Soules will focus on the expansion of Wellcome Genome Campus in Hinxton, South Cambridgeshire. Urban&Civic, which was acquired by Wellcome in 2021, is acting as the development manager.
The first phase will span 315 acres, creating new lab space, homes for campus staff and community amenities such as shops, a leisure centre and green spaces.
The new facilities are expected to be suitable for a range of occupiers from start-ups and scale-ups to mature organisations focused on genomics and biodata.
The campus is already a home to the Wellcome Sanger Institute, the European Molecular Biology Laboratory’s European Bioinformatics Institute and the BioData Innovation Centre.
