Urbanest picks JLL to draft sustainability strategy
London student accommodation provider Urbanest has appointed JLL to establish its sustainability strategy.
The consultancy will be tasked with guiding the developer through a two-phase project that aims to create ESG reporting requirements and devise a sustainability roadmap.
Urbanest’s portfolio spans 4,000 student homes across central London, including King’s Cross, Waterloo and in the City. It is also building schemes in Battersea and Canary Wharf to Passivhaus certification.

The developer is set to enhance its position amongst stakeholders as the leader in sustainable development within the PBSA sector. JLL will assist the firm in achieving its goals via in-depth reviews of peer performance, legislation, reporting standards, investor expectations and the exploration of data management options.
The output from this phase will be a disclosure roadmap, outlining actionable steps based on identified frameworks and metrics. As the project progresses into the second phase, JLL will work with Urbanest to develop a future-proofed sustainability strategy.
