Bristol city council has given Urbis permission to scope out plans for a £135m regeneration of the city’s Bedminster district.
Under the agreement, Urbis will produce a draft masterplan for the area between Bedminster station and East Street. The scheme could deliver up to 800 homes.
Last October, the council approved Urbis’ application to redevelop the St Catherine’s Place shopping centre in Bedminster.
Urbis managing director Richard Clarke said: “This is fantastic news for Bedminster and Bristol. This area has been neglected for far too long. It’s an ideal place to build new homes – and to help revitalise this community.”
