Western Atlas, the USA’s second-biggest machine tool producer, is considering expanding its production site at Keighley, West Yorkshire, by 20% to cope with increased demand. The factory is part of the company’s Landis Lund division which makes specialist grinding machines for the automotive industry.
Japanese company Yamazaki, the world’s biggest machine tool producer, is also expanding its Worcester plant to boost annual production roughly 20% over the next two years to more than £100m.
