US automotive company joins Liverpool business park scramble

Speke Garston Development Company, the JV between Liverpool council and the North West Development agency, has netted another US-based automotive supplier for its 26ha (64 acres) Boulevard Industry Park, in Speke Garston.

Visteon, component suppliers to Ford and Jaguar, is investing £4.2m to build a 7,000 sq m (75,348 sq ft) factory on the park. The factory is expected to create around 70 jobs. The site is now 50% let and will eventually comprise 92,900 sq m (1m sq ft) of industrial space.

Other purpose-built factories are already being built on-site for fellow US automotive firms Conix Corporation and Lear Corporation, with completion due by the end of the year.

King Sturge and Insignia Richard Ellis are the letting agents for the scheme.
